Our Story

Our Story

Inspired by Rocky Mountain living, born out of pure culinary passion.

Golden and the Canadian Rockies are rich with history; from the railway and the logging industry, to mountain-guiding, exploration, and outdoor pursuits. The Canadian Pacific Railway once used elegant hotels, restaurants and the food scene to support their focus on tourism as the railroad began bringing tourists to the area.

The vision for Columbia River Catering Co. is to bring this essence of our mountain history while creating a piece of Golden’s culinary history to come; linking the endless outdoor activities of this area to foods that are traditionally grown and produced, and cooked and eaten locally.

What's Important to Us?

Here at CRCC, we believe good food is just the beginning. As a business, we have a responsibility not only to our customers, but to our community, and the planet as a whole.

People

Our customers, our employees, and our vendors are the lifeline of our business. We continually strive to create a constructive environment where a partnership exists to ensure our customers, our employees, and our vendors are a part of our success. By building a respectful workplace for our employees and vendors, we include them in the quality of service with our customers. Our food is our product but our people are our service.

Planet

Living and playing in our pristine mountain environment gives us a heightened responsibility to keep our planet clean. As a food business utilizing take away packaging, we are serious about our role to minimize waste. We use 100% biodegradable take away containers. As location food provider, whenever we go, wherever we serve, our footprint is our legacy—and we want to minimize our environmental footprint and leave our environment cleaner and better than we found it.

Community

We use local suppliers and local labour. When we can’t use local products, we use our profits to ensure we can partner with distributors that support fair trade, oceanwise, and small farms production.

Meet the Brackos

"..a dream in the making for 20 years."

"Columbia River Catering Co. has been a dream in the making for 20 years. As I progressed through my career in the culinary arts, the goal was always there to be able to build my own business. After spending 14 years in Golden's culinary scene, the opportunity became clear in the growing trend and needs in the community and food service sector. Inspired by my travels, combined with the culinary history of our mountain parks background, the concept of a gourmet Foodtruck, event catering, and private chefing was born." - Dan
